Head Coach: Tom Crowell Sherwood’s New Head Football Coach Tom Crowell, is a retired teacher of 32 years with the Montgomery County Public Schools. He has coached local high school football for over 47 years in both Montgomery County and the WCAC, including Sherwood HS from 1992-2003 (Head Coach for 3 years). Other schools include St. Johns, Wheaton, Blair, Springbrook, and Good Counsel. Coach Crowell has also head coached HS basketball from 1979 to 2013 in Montgomery County for Wheaton, Northwest, Springbrook, and Sherwood. Most recently in 2017, Coach Crowell was the Associate Head Coach for St. Johns HS Football winning the WCAC Championship. Prior to that, he was the O-Line/O-Coordinator for Good Counsel HS from 2003 to 2016 winning 4 of 11 Championships games, with a team that was ranked #4 in the Nation in 2011. As a state finalist for Sherwood football in 2002, he was named the Montgomery Journal’s Coach of the Year and won State Championships as Sherwood’s O-Line coach in 1996 and 1997, also receiving the John W. Voight Assistant Coach Award in 1997 (MD State HS Football Hall of Fame Inductee). With Springbrook, as the O-Line coach, he won State Championships in 1985, 1988, and 1989, and with Good Counsel and St. Johns won 8 WCAC Championships. |
